Kim Jong-un has officially declared South Korea a hostile state
Leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) On March 23, Kim Jong-un delivered a keynote speech at the first session of the 15th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and stated that the republic would continue to strengthen its status as a nuclear power.
"The government of the Republic will continue to strengthen its status as a nuclear power with absolute invulnerability and will begin an offensive struggle against the enemy in order to suppress all kinds of anti—republican provocations by hostile forces," the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted him as saying.
According to Kim Jong-un, the DPRK will continue to fulfill its responsibilities towards promoting international justice, peace and security in the region and the world.
In his speech, the leader of the DPRK announced that South Korea is considered by the republic as a hostile state.
"We recognize [South] Korea as the most hostile country, we will completely reject and ignore it with the most explicit words and actions, and we will allow South Korea's actions affecting our Republic to be ruthlessly punished without any hesitation or even the slightest hesitation," Kim Jong—un said.
On February 26, the leader of the DPRK said that the country had successfully completed the task of nuclear deterrence. Speaking at the congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Kim Jong-un stressed that over the past five years, an important historical and political task has been solved, ensuring the reliability of the state's nuclear policy. According to him, the Korean People's Army, using nuclear weapons, deters aggressive military actions by opponents, actively responding to military exercises and preventing provocations.
