The State Duma recalled the consequences of non-payment of child support
Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, said that after the introduction of the register of alimony debtors, 15-20% of violators paid money.
In conversation with Lenta.Ru On Thursday, February 26, the parliamentarian noted that previously, malicious alimony defaulters could evade payments by often changing jobs, but now it is much more difficult to do this. According to her, the situation has been improved by the creation of a unified register of debtors, which allows employers to automatically deduct alimony from salaries.
She noted that restrictions on debtors, including a ban on traveling abroad and the possibility of seizing a car, had an additional effect.
At the same time, Bessarab stressed that new restrictions should be introduced carefully so as not to deprive people of the opportunity to earn and pay alimony.
Earlier on February 26, Oleg Ritman, president of the bar Association, said that Russian alimony defaulters face not only administrative, but also criminal liability. If, within two months after the initiation of enforcement proceedings, the debtor does not attempt to repay the debt, the court may order compulsory work for up to 150 hours, administrative arrest for up to 15 days, or a fine of up to 20,000 rubles, writes RT.
Also on February 26, it became known that in Russia, starting from March 1, alimony payments will be calculated from the average salary in the region. The amount of alimony will increase. Now it is calculated based on the minimum wage, and the average salary is more than the minimum wage, the website writes. kp.ru .
On February 19, Sergei Mironov, chairman of the Fair Russia Party, took the initiative to create a state alimony fund in the Russian Federation. In his opinion, this structure should take over the financial support of children left without payments from one of their parents, as well as the functions of tracking down defaulters and collecting debts from them, Moscow 24 notes.
On February 10, the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation announced that it is now possible to check the availability of enforcement proceedings from bailiffs on the public services portal. Users can receive information about the number, date and basis of the initiation of enforcement proceedings, the amount of debt, as well as about the bailiff division, the responsible employee and the reasons for the completion or termination of proceedings, the Moscow City News Agency reports.
