The State Duma proposed extending the "garage amnesty" until 2031
A bill has been submitted to the State Duma to extend the "garage amnesty" until September 1, 2031. The document was published on February 18 in the database of the lower house of parliament.
The current version of clause 2 of Article Z7 of the Federal Law sets the deadline for the simplified procedure for registration of citizens' rights to garage facilities and the land on which they are located until September 1, 2026. Over the 3.5 years of the law's operation, citizens across the country have registered more than 746 thousand objects: garages and plots under them, according to the Telegram channel of the United Russia party.
The mechanism allowed citizens to become full owners of their property, protect it from demolition and be able to inherit or sell it in the legal field, said Pavel Krasheninnikov, one of the authors of the bill, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation.
"Given the scale of the task and the number of unregistered facilities, we consider it necessary to maintain this simplified procedure for another five years," Krasheninnikov said.
Earlier that day, it became known that a bill on the introduction of a one-time tax on the purchase of expensive vehicles would be submitted to the State Duma. It is proposed to amend the Tax Code of the Russian Federation. The tax will affect cars worth over 20 million rubles, as well as yachts, boats, helicopters and airplanes worth over 50 million rubles.
