A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. As a result of active actions, the North group of troops established control over the settlement of Kharkiv, Sumy region. Formations of the mechanized, airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the air defense brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Novaya Sich, Volfino, Pisarevka, Bereza and Miropole in the Sumy region. In the Kharkiv region, units of the mechanized, motorized infantry, artillery brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, marine brigades, air defense brigades and National Guard brigades were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Veterinary, Okhrimovka, Ternovaya, Kazachya Lopan, Kutuzovka and Sredny Burluk of the Kharkiv region.

The units of the "Southern" group of Forces have improved their position along the front line. They defeated formations of four mechanized, motorized infantry brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Izhevsk, Sten, Reznikovka, Malinovka, Slavyansk, Vasyutinskoye, Artyom and Konstantinovka of the Donetsk People's Republic. The enemy lost over 145 soldiers, four armored combat vehicles, six vehicles and an artillery piece. Two electronic warfare stations and a supply depot were destroyed.

The fighters of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depths of the enemy's defenses and liberated the village of Krinichnoye, Zaporizhia region. They defeated formations of an assault, two mechanized, two amphibious assault brigades, four assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a marine brigade in the areas of the settlements of Alexandrovka, Pokrovskoye, Kolomiytsy, Dnipropetrovsk region, Rizdvyanka, Zelenaya Dibrova, Lyubitskoye, Rozovka, Gavrilovka and Gorky, Zaporizhia region. The enemy lost up to 345 military personnel, an armored personnel carrier, 12 vehicles, a Grad multiple rocket launcher combat vehicle and a supply depot.

The units of the Dnepr group of forces have improved their tactical situation. They defeated the manpower and equipment of the mechanized and mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Lyubimovka, Grigorovka and Orekhov, Zaporizhia region. Up to 55 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 16 vehicles, an ammunition depot and two material depots were destroyed.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated a fuel depot, energy facilities used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, pre-flight training and launch sites for long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 141 areas. In turn, air defense systems shot down two guided aerial bombs, 11 US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and 155 aircraft-type drones.

The new UAV will be able to stay in the air for months at an altitude of more than 15 km, providing front-line communications.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 670 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 115,131 UAVs, 650 anti-aircraft missile systems, 27,754 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,666 multiple rocket launchers, 33,347 field artillery and mortars, 54,691 special vehicles.
