The Traffic Management Center (TSODD) has installed 470 smart cameras on the Moscow High-speed Diameter. The Metropolitan Department of Transport announced this on February 17 in its Telegram channel.

Unlike conventional traffic cameras that record traffic violations, such complexes recognize 15 types of dangerous incidents, including pedestrians on the road, accidents or stops in the lane, road works, movement of personal mobility equipment, and more. The number of such cameras on the MSD has reached about 2 thousand units, they automatically analyze the video stream using a neural network.

After receiving the signal from the cameras, the data center staff displays warnings on road signs and reports incidents to the highway Patrol, traffic police and other emergency services. It is noted that the "smart" video analytics cameras are equipped with optical zoom so that the incident can be viewed in detail, and they can also work in any weather due to "wipers" and lens cleaning fluid.

According to the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport, since the beginning of the year, such video complexes have recorded more than 50,000 incidents.

The day before it was reported that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation has developed a draft government decree, which proposes to conduct preliminary testing of the driver for intoxication by saliva. Based on its results, the issue of the driver's removal from control and the further procedure for his examination for intoxication will be resolved.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
