If a woman worked during her maternity leave, she can take a vacation during or after her maternity leave, which she has accumulated. This was announced on February 6 by Anna Pokrovskaya, an assistant professor at the Department of Civil Law and Procedure and Private International Law, Patent Attorney of the Russian Federation.

"For each year, both basic and additional vacations are "worked out." If they used to receive, say, 35 days, then the same amount accumulates during the years of the decree. After returning to work, the employee has the right to take the accumulated vacations immediately or distribute them by agreement with the employer," the expert said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

She added that maternity leave for up to three years of age is taken into account in the length of service, which grants the right to annual paid leave.

On February 3, Evgenia Gankina, director of the Roskachestvo Organizational Development Department, reported that employers have the right to send an employee on vacation even against his will if too many days have accumulated, but leave at his own expense is possible only on the initiative of the employee himself. She explained that the Labor Code of the Russian Federation stipulates that annual paid leave must be provided to an employee annually. If an employee has not used his vacation for two years, the employer is obliged to send him on vacation according to the approved schedule with two weeks' notice.
