US Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll is taking part in the talks between Russia, Ukraine and the United States, which are taking place in Abu Dhabi. This is evidenced on February 4 by photographs published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the social network X (former. Twitter).

Special envoy of the American leader Steven Witkoff and the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, businessman Jared Kushner, are also taking part in the negotiations. In the photo, they are depicted at the negotiating table, while they are not wearing ties. Driscoll put on a suit, but also decided to ignore the tie.

On the same day, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov announced the start of the next stage of negotiations in Abu Dhabi. According to him, after that, work will take place in separate groups in the areas, and then it is planned to re-synchronize the countries' positions.

The day before, White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt announced that Witkoff and Kushner would take part in talks with Russia in Abu Dhabi on February 4.

The newspaper Politico later reported that the second round of negotiations could be more productive than previously expected. It was noted that the participants in the negotiation process began to behave more constructively.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in turn, clarified that the Russian delegation to Abu Dhabi would again be led by Admiral Igor Kostyukov, chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. At the same time, the spokesman stressed that Moscow is always open to a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
