The weighted average price of a new passenger car increased by 13% over the year and reached 3.5 million rubles. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel.
According to the agency's calculations, in January 2026, the weighted average price of a new passenger car (3.5 million rubles) was 2.1% less than in December. At the same time, at the beginning of 2024, the price was 3.12 million rubles, at the beginning of 2023 - 2.96 million rubles, and at the beginning of 2022 - 2.38 million rubles.
As for used passenger cars, prices in this segment increased almost the same way, the analyst pointed out. The weighted average value was 1.34 million rubles, which is 14% higher than in January last year (1.2 million rubles). The growth compared to December last year was 0.5%. In January 2022, the figure was 0.89 million rubles, in 2023 it reached 1.04 million rubles, and in 2024 it reached 1.18 million rubles.
On this day, it was reported that by the end of January 2026, 80.6 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 9.5% less than in the same month of 2025. Seven models of domestic car brands entered the top 10 bestsellers of the Russian market in January 2026.
