China has unveiled the Bolt humanoid robot, which set a world record by reaching speeds of up to 10 m/s on a treadmill. This result is the best among robots to date. The message about this was published on January 3 by the Hangzhou International Scientific and Technical Innovation Center on the WeChat social network account.

The robot was presented as a full-size humanoid specimen. Bolt was named after Jamaican track and field athlete Usain Bolt, who set a world record in the 100 m in 9.58 seconds.

The Bolt robot was developed in collaboration with Shanghai-based MirrorMe Tech and Zhejiang-based Kaierda. In the future, the developers plan to continue improving the machine and expand its application areas, including services and manufacturing.

In November, the Xinhua news agency reported that an industry investment fund of 1 billion yuan (about 11 million 159 thousand rubles) would be created in Wuhan, China, to further support humanoid robot manufacturing enterprises. It is expected that by 2045, China will employ more than 100 million humanoid robots in various industries, which will create a total market value of about 10 trillion yuan (about 110 million 516 thousand rubles).

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
