The late financier Jeffrey Epstein, who is accused of sex trafficking minors, probably introduced American President Donald Trump to his wife Melania. Information about this follows from new documents on the case, which were declassified by the US Department of Justice.

Epstein's files, which are published on the agency's website, cite the testimony of an anonymous assistant to the financier, which she gave on July 12, 2019, just a week after the arrest of the accused. According to her, before meeting Epstein, the girl worked as a model. She collaborated with the financier from 2005 to 2006.

In conversation with agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) She talked about the financier's methods of recruiting young girls. Epstein's ex-assistant also claims that it was he who introduced Trump to Melania.

"Epstein introduced Melania Trump to Donald Trump," she said.

Trump had expressed confidence the day before that there were no questions about the case of the late Epstein. He also expressed the hope that after the publication of all the materials, the Democrats would stop accusing him of having ties with the financier. At the same time, Trump said he had never visited Epstein Island, unlike "almost all" Democrats.

Epstein's files began to be published on December 20 last year, after Trump signed a bill to make them public on November 19 of the same year.
