Sales of used cars increased in Russia in 2025

In 2025, used car sales in Russia totaled almost 6.24 million units. This is 3.3% more than a year earlier. This is stated in the report of the analytical agency Autostat, which was received by Izvestia on January 27.

Five brands account for half of the Russian secondary market. Lada retains its leadership, with 1.53 million domestic brand cars purchased last year. Toyota took the second place, with a result of 624.8 thousand units. Kia and Hyundai are behind it (358.8 thousand and 343.1 thousand units, respectively), and Nissan closes the top five (272.9 thousand units).

This was followed by Volkswagen (261 thousand units), Chevrolet (219 thousand units), Honda (207.7 thousand units), Renault (207.5 thousand units) and BMW (184.3 thousand units).

In the top ten, seven brands are showing positive dynamics in relation to 2024, among which BMW distinguished itself better than others (+8.9%). At the same time, Toyota had the lowest market growth (+0.9%). Three brands have a market decline: Chevrolet (-0.2%), Renault (-1.2%) and Nissan (-3.4%).

Chinese cars are being replaced by Russian models

The day before, it was reported that by the end of 2025, 695 new Luxury cars were sold in Russia. Sales increased by 22% over the year, and Rolls-Royce became the most popular brand in this market segment.
