The demand for cleaning cars from snow in the Russian Federation has increased sixfold
Against the background of abnormally heavy snowfalls in Russia in the first two weeks of January, there was a noticeable increase in interest in snow removal not only of territories, but also of cars. On January 21, experts from Avito Services told Izvestia about this.
Residents of the country were 3.8 times more likely than in the same period last year to seek snow removal. At the same time, the number of ads for such services has almost doubled over the year — by 97%.
One of the most sought—after services turned out to be cleaning cars from snow - it was searched for 5.8 times more often. The number of offers increased 2.1 times. It is noted that experts in this type of cleaning suggest completely freeing the car from snow and ice: clean the roof, hood, windows, headlights and mirrors, as well as wipers and locks.
In cases where cars were blocked by snow and could not leave on their own, Russians also turned to tow trucks. In early January, interest in them increased by 6% year-on-year.
Earlier, on January 16, auto expert Alexander Kornev said that a car left in a snowdrift risks hidden damage and accelerated wear of components due to exposure to reagents, temperature fluctuations and prolonged parking. Prolonged parking also has a negative effect on the battery: batteries lose their charge, and worn ones can completely discharge. Corrosion often affects the terminals, which leads to problems with contact and undercharging.
