Europe, in particular the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen, should not anger and provoke US President Donald Trump on the issue of Greenland, from where they should also withdraw their military. This was announced on January 17 by Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries.
"Dear Ursula "Pfizer" von der Leyen, don't provoke Daddy (Trump. — Ed.)!" says his message posted on the social network X (ex. Twiter).
In his publication, Dmitriev also called on EU countries to "take back" the 13 soldiers they had sent to the territory of the Danish semi-autonomous unit. In addition, he suggested that Western countries could receive an additional percentage of tariffs for each of the military personnel.
On the same day, the head of the White House imposed duties on a number of European countries in the amount of 10%. The head of the European Commission said that the decision taken by the American leader against the background of the situation around Greenland poses a risk for the deterioration of European-American relations. The Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations, Michael Waltz, commenting on the events, said that he did not see any violations of international law on the part of his country in the situation with the island.
