- Russians began to turn to car service stations more often in anticipation of rising prices
At the end of December 2025, an increase in demand for car service services was recorded in Russia, the total number of car arrivals in the country increased by 6% year-on-year over the last two weeks of the month, according to the international network of franchised car service Fit Service. In Moscow and the region, the increase in the number of visits reached 13%, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported on January 15.
Representatives of the company said that the noticeable increase in demand for car service stations at the end of December is due to several reasons. Usually car owners are preparing for vacation trips and want to make sure that their cars are in good working order, and people are also worried that car service stations will not work for a long time. At the same time, at the end of 2025, drivers had an additional motive for traveling to the service station — to carry out maintenance and repairs at lower prices.
"In 2026, the increase in the cost of services in many areas will be noticeable, so car owners are trying to save money and close all the accumulated work on cars in advance," explained Dmitry Samoilov, director of partner support at Fit Service.
According to the company, the average check for car repair and maintenance in the last weeks of December 2025 amounted to 13.7 thousand rubles, which is 8% higher than last year. It is noted that car spending was at its peak in the last days before the start of the New Year holidays.
Earlier, on December 12, it was reported that the market capacity for passenger car services by the end of 2025 amounted to 1.2 trillion rubles. The market volume for maintenance and repair services amounted to 719.1 billion rubles, and for leading services such as car washing, tire fitting and body repair — 485 billion rubles.
