- The court reduced the sentence of the ex-head of the BKF Mirimskaya to nine years and eight months.
The Second Court of Cassation of General Jurisdiction has almost doubled the sentence of Olga Mirimskaya, ex-head of the Board of Directors of BKF Bank, to nine years and eight months. This was reported on December 24 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
Earlier, Mirimskaya was sentenced to 19 years in prison for bribing an investigator and attempting to bribe judges in the amount of about $ 1.8 million. According to the court's decision, Mirimskaya was finally sentenced to 8 years and 9 months. Thus, the court granted the cassation representation of the prosecutor's office.
Mirimskaya bought out a stake in Russian Product JSC, one of the largest grocery manufacturers in Russia, in 2000. Another asset of Mirimskaya was the Corporate Finance Bank, which was revoked in November 2024 due to numerous violations. In 2015, Forbes included Mirimskaya in the list of the richest women in Russia, where she ranked 22nd with a fortune of $100 million.
Mirimskaya's detention became known in December 2021. She was charged under Part 5 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Bribery"). At a meeting on October 14, 2024, the prosecutor requested that Mirimskaya be sentenced to 20 years in prison with a fine of 500 million rubles.
In December 2024, Mirimskaya appealed her 19-year sentence. On the same day, the Izmailovsky court in Moscow sentenced her to 19 years in a general regime penal colony. The former head of the BKF was also ordered to pay a fine of 400 million rubles. She did not admit her guilt.
