In the first 11 months of this year, the number of accidents involving car—sharing drivers in Moscow decreased by 7.3%, and the number of victims decreased by 3.7%. The Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate announced this in its Telegram channel on December 22.

A total of 342 accidents involving short-term rental cars were registered in the capital during this period, in which 10 people were killed and 411 injured in various degrees of severity.

The agency recalled that in car-sharing cars, as in other cars, it is necessary to fasten your seat belt (even in the back seat). Drivers were urged not to exceed the speed limit in pursuit of saving rental time and not to disregard traffic regulations.

"When you're going to get behind the wheel of a carsharing service, make sure you have an account. Attempts to purchase a fake result in criminal liability for vehicle theft," the traffic police said.

Earlier that day, it was reported that experts had compiled a rating of carsharing companies based on negative reviews. In just one calendar year, users left 638,000 messages on Russian social media mentioning carsharing services.
