The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Magnitogorsk, police Colonel Konstantin Kozitsyn, has been suspended from official duties after being detained on suspicion of disclosing state secrets. This was reported to Izvestia on December 22 in the press service of the GUMVD of Russia in the Chelyabinsk region.
"The leadership of the GUMVD of Russia in the Chelyabinsk region has appointed an internal audit on this fact. The employee has been suspended from his official duties," the agency said in a statement.
It is specified that upon confirmation of guilt, he will be dismissed from the internal affairs bodies on negative grounds and will be punished in accordance with the procedure established by law.
A source from Izvestia reported on Kozitsyn's detention on the same day. It is reported that he is suspected of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 283 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Disclosure of state secrets").
