The Interior Ministry has prepared amendments to the rules of the road

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation has developed a draft decree of the Government of the Russian Federation providing for amendments to the traffic regulations. The document was published on December 12 on the federal portal of draft regulations.

It is proposed to allow the use of "digital" driver's licenses and vehicle documents along with traditional, paper documents. As follows from the explanatory note to the draft resolution, the presentation of driver's licenses and JTS will be carried out using a two-dimensional bar code when interacting with the national messenger MAX and "Public Services".

"The proposed changes are aimed at simplifying the procedure for confirming the right to drive a vehicle, as well as digitalizing the road safety system," the accompanying documents to the draft resolution say.

Currently, the draft decree of the Government of the Russian Federation is undergoing public discussion procedures.

The day before, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reminded residents of the new regions of the Russian Federation of the need to replace documents and vehicle registration plates with Russian ones by the end of this year.
