New CTP tariffs have entered into force in Russia
The rules for calculating the cost of CTP policies have changed since December 9th. This is reported in the instruction published on the website of the Bank of Russia.
The CTP tariff corridor has been expanded by 15% in both directions for almost all types of transport. The exception was motorcycles, for which the expansion was 40%. For cars owned by individuals, insurance companies will be able to set a tariff in the range of 1,399 — 8,665 rubles, for cars owned by legal entities, the corridor will be 724 — 6,580 rubles. Rates for trucks up to 16 tons increase to 791-13 709 rubles, and over 16 tons — up to 1489-17 201 rubles. For taxi cars, the tariff range will be 1267-18 119 rubles, and for motorcycles — 155-4260 rubles.
In addition to the expansion of the tariff corridor, the value of the territorial coefficient for a number of subjects of the federation is also changing. Since December 9, it has been increasing for 28 municipalities in several regions of the country and decreasing for 20. The most significant increase in the coefficient (by half) is provided for five territories in the Novosibirsk region and three districts of the Republic of Ingushetia.
The tariff adjustment will allow insurers to offer policies at a fair price that more accurately takes into account the risks of drivers, the regulator believes.
Earlier, on December 8, the head of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA), Evgeny Ufimtsev, proposed sending warnings through the Gosuslugi portal to car owners who did not have a CTP policy, instead of immediately issuing fines. According to him, this approach will encourage citizens to take out compulsory insurance.
