In the Moscow region, the country's main Christmas tree was cut down for installation in the Kremlin

On December 8, the main New Year tree of the country, which will be installed on the Cathedral Square of the Moscow Kremlin, was cut down in the Ruza municipal District of the Moscow Region.

"Every year, our foresters <...> search for this beauty throughout the region, because it must meet certain requirements. <...> Externally, it must be fluffy, its configuration must correspond to the ideal pyramidal shape, the trunk must be flat, it must be more than 25 m high," said the chairman of the forestry Committee. The selected spruce has a height of 26 m, the span of the lower branches is 11 m, and the trunk circumference is 64 cm. According to experts, the search and preparation of such a tree takes several months, and sometimes more than six months.

Evgeny Ganzen, head of the main operational directorate of the Presidential Administration, clarified that the preparation of the tree for transportation will begin on December 9, and on December 10 at 22:00 the Christmas tree will be solemnly greeted on Red Square and transported to the Kremlin.
