The accident killed the six-year-old son of the second driver, who was in the back seat, wearing a seat belt, but without using a child restraint device. Both drivers, two passengers of the culprit of the collision and two passengers of the second vehicle, including another boy born in 2021, were hospitalized with injuries. The State Traffic Inspectorate called on citizens who have not been trained in driving schools and have not received the right to drive vehicles in accordance with the established procedure, or who have been deprived of such a right, to refrain from trying to get behind the wheel and drive onto public roads. By their reckless actions, such citizens endanger not only their own lives and health, but also the lives and health of other road users, including children.

"In addition, we urge road users not to remain indifferent to the problem of drunkenness at the wheel and promptly inform the police about drivers who behave inappropriately on the road, driving drunk. Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate are ready to take all necessary operational measures to respond to such reports," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
