- Reuters reported on secret talks between Cuba and the United States on the Maduro regime
Representatives of the Cuban government contacted the United States and discussed what the world would look like without Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. This was reported on December 6 by the Reuters news agency, citing sources.
"Some elements of the Cuban regime have turned to the United States. Negotiations took place between them on what the world would look like without the Maduro regime," the agency quoted the source as saying.
Another source confirmed the information about the presence of contacts between representatives of the Cuban authorities and the United States. The interlocutors did not provide more detailed information.
Earlier, on November 16, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused Maduro of leading the Los Soles drug cartel. He also announced the State Department's intention to recognize the group as a foreign terrorist organization.
The New York Times (NYT) reported on November 4, citing informed sources, that the Trump administration was considering three options for military operations against Venezuela. It was clarified that, according to the first concept, the US Air Force (Air Force) would launch an airstrike on military installations in order to deprive Maduro of support.
Later, US President Donald Trump told Maduro during a telephone conversation about possible military measures if he did not leave office. It is noted that Trump and Maduro discussed Venezuela's demands for a general amnesty for Maduro, his senior aides and their families.
