In the Tower of London, a showcase with royal jewels was damaged as a result of a protest by activists, and the tourist site was temporarily closed during a police investigation. This was reported on December 6 by the British newspaper The Independent.

According to police, law enforcement officers were called to the Tower at about 09:48 (11:48 Moscow time) on Saturday, December 6, after reports that the showcase containing the state crown was stained with food thrown by protesters. It was previously established that four people had attacked the exhibition, two of them tried to escape, but all the suspects were promptly detained with the assistance of security guards and the London police.

Law enforcement agencies clarified that the arrest was made on suspicion of intentionally causing damage, and investigative actions are currently underway. The Tower remains closed to the public until the investigation is completed.

"The tower houses a collection of royal jewels, and the coronation regalia are at the center of this exhibition. This includes the imperial state crown, which the monarch wears at the end of the coronation ceremony and at special events such as the opening of Parliament. The coronation regalia was made for the coronation of King Charles II in 1661 and has been kept in the Tower of London ever since.

Earlier, on September 13, journalist Anna Zhikhareva told Izvestia about the protests that broke out in Britain against the migration policy of the cabinet of the current Prime Minister of the country, Keir Starmer. The footage shows the streets of London with crowds of people dressed in the national flags of England, mountains of garbage and posters displayed right on the sidewalks.

The Guardian reported on the same day that Charlie Kirk's death as a result of an assassination attempt against him was the reason for the largest far-right rally in Britain in recent decades. Later it became known that more than 100 thousand people took to the streets of London, who also opposed illegal migration. Their demonstration, organized by right-wing activist Tommy Robinson, was held under the slogan "Unite the Kingdom."
