The new US Special Representative for Ukraine, Daniel Driscoll, will act without undue sympathy for Kiev. This opinion was expressed on November 22 by Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov.

"Driscoll <... He will probably act without sentiment and unnecessary sympathy for Ukraine for his mission," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to Pushkov, the resignation of former U.S. representative Keith Kellogg is related to his unwillingness to promote the peace plan of the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump. Driscoll was given the task of getting the Ukrainian side to accept the American terms of the settlement.

As Pushkov noted, the personnel reshuffle indicates Washington's intention to accelerate the peace process and force Kiev to compromise.

On November 21, The Guardian newspaper reported that US Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll has been appointed Donald Trump's new special representative for Ukraine. According to US officials, Trump intends to exert "unprecedented pressure" on Kiev and "threatens to stop vital intelligence sharing and arms supplies to Ukraine if it does not come to an agreement."
