The State Duma questioned the new "crushing sanctions" of the United States
The sanctions policy of the United States is causing great dissatisfaction among many countries, so new restrictions against Russia's partners are unlikely to be introduced. Alexey Chepa, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Policy, expressed this opinion on Thursday, November 20.
Earlier, US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (listed as a terrorist and extremist in Russia) said that US President Donald Trump had approved a bill on "crushing sanctions" against Russia, RT reports.
According to Chepa, the congressman, who has always pursued a malicious Russophobic policy, is wishful thinking.
The deputy added that the American leader was indeed asked to consider the possibility of secondary sanctions against states interacting with Russia, but this policy causes great dissatisfaction in many countries.
"Dissatisfaction with the interference of the United States in their sovereign right, the imposition of other views on them and the influence on their economic programs, which hinders the development of these countries, and therefore is interference in their internal affairs. Therefore, I doubt that this wish will be accepted in the form suggested by some congressmen," the deputy said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
The bill, authored by Graham, is now supported by more than 80 senators. It provides for the possibility for the US president to impose a 500% duty on imports of goods from countries that purchase Russian uranium, gas and oil. 360.ru .
Earlier, on October 9, Trump announced the possible imposition of additional sanctions against Russia. At the same time, he stressed that the United States does not plan to reduce its military presence in Europe, but may redeploy troops after assessing their optimal deployment.
Strategic Culture magazine reported on November 13 that the West, whose sanctions are unable to end the conflict in Ukraine, needs to reconsider its position towards Russia.
