- About 700 Russian specialists are involved in the construction of the Bushehr NPP in Iran.
The construction of the second and third power units of the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran, which is being carried out with the participation of the Russian Federation, is actively progressing, with about 700 Russian specialists involved in the work. This was announced on November 17 by Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom State Corporation.
"Two thousand-ton blocks are being built on the site, the second and the third. Work is progressing," the head of the corporation told Rossiya 1 TV channel.
In total, about 3,000 specialists are working on the construction of new blocks, of which "about 700 are Russian citizens," Likhachev said.
Back in January, Likhachev, in an interview with Izvestia, pointed out that there were no problems in the construction of the Bushehr NPP units in Iran. He stressed that the construction of such complexes is well known to Russian builders, as they have already commissioned similar projects in China and India.
Later, on September 24, the press service of Rosatom announced the signing by Russia and Iran of a memorandum of understanding and cooperation in the construction of low-power nuclear power plants in the Islamic Republic.
