According to forecasters, frosts are possible over the coming weekend, so it is recommended to change summer tires to winter ones. On November 13, the State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI) announced this in its Telegram channel.

The agency advised drivers to change the wiper fluid in a timely manner, which should be purchased at certified points of sale, as well as check tire wear and balance the wheels, observe the speed limit and keep their distance.

Tires must match the vehicle model in size or permissible load, the traffic police stressed.

"We remind you that the slightest malfunction of the car when driving on a slippery road, as well as at the time of heavy precipitation, can lead to irreparable consequences. Take care in advance of the serviceability of your vehicle before the onset of cold weather. Do not delay the "refueling" until the first ice," the Traffic Police urged.

The day before, Fit Service experts said that the season for replacing summer tires with winter tires started earlier this year — snow fell in early October in most of Russia. Motorists in the Far Eastern, Volga, Northwestern, Siberian and Ural districts went for tire repairs earlier than usual.

Prior to that, on November 10, auto expert Vladimir Bakharev warned that the car could become uncontrollable during a change in the weather and the first snowfall if special driving regulations were not followed.
