The UN announced its readiness to resume the Black Sea deal
The UN is ready to assist in the resumption of the Black Sea deal, as well as to work with the Russian Federation and Ukraine in this direction. This was stated to Izvestia in the office of the Secretary General of the organization.
"Currently, the initiative on the Black Sea is not being considered by the parties. It's up to them to decide whether to return to her. The UN remains ready to cooperate with the parties," said Farhan Haq, Deputy Official Representative of the UN Secretary General.
The prospects for resuming the Black Sea Grain Initiative were discussed, in particular, at a meeting of the Russian and American delegations in Riyadh on March 24. The Kremlin later said that the agreements between Russia and the United States on the Black Sea would come into force only after the lifting of sanctions against a number of Russian banks and their reconnection to SWIFT.
Earlier, on July 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Europe of not complying with the terms of the Black Sea initiative. According to him, European states did not comply with its conditions related to food exports. So, they took the grain for themselves instead of sending it to the countries of the South.
