Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro allegedly can agree to a voluntary resignation if certain conditions are met. This was reported on November 6 by The Atlantic magazine, citing sources.

"Maduro will be open to resigning as president if the United States provides him and his top military personnel with generous remuneration and ensures a safe retirement," the newspaper quoted a source close to the negotiation process as saying.

The publication adds that Maduro may consider a transition of power in exchange for the lifting of sanctions against him and his inner circle, as well as guarantees of safe departure from the country.

On November 5, Nicolas Maduro approved a comprehensive defense plan and a transition to armed struggle in case of aggression from the United States. The President noted that this is necessary to protect the territorial integrity, dignity and future of Venezuela. He also called on the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (UESP) to immediately begin implementing the decision.

The New York Times (NYT) reported on November 4, citing informed sources, that the administration of US President Donald Trump is considering three options for military operations against Venezuela. It was clarified that, according to the first concept, the US Air Force (Air Force) would launch an airstrike on military installations in order to deprive Maduro of support.

On November 2, Trump said he "doubted" that his country was going to start a war with Venezuela. However, he pointed out the problems existing between the United States and this republic, which included drugs and migration.
