Polyansky accused Kiev of ingratitude after voting against Cuba at the UN
Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations, condemned Kiev's position, which voted against lifting the embargo on Cuba. The diplomat made a corresponding statement on October 30 on the social network X.
According to Polyansky, such a decision demonstrates the "true face of the Kiev regime" and is a manifestation of ingratitude to the country that helped Ukraine after the Chernobyl accident.
"It shows the true face of the Kiev regime very eloquently. This is how they repaid the Cubans for caring for the children of Chernobyl in 1986," he said.
The Russian diplomat stressed that Kiev's vote against the UN resolution on ending the blockade of Cuba once again confirmed that the current Ukrainian authorities are acting solely in the interests of their Western patrons.
Earlier, on October 29, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga announced Kiev's decision to close the embassy in Havana and lower the level of diplomatic relations with Cuba. He recalled that Ukraine voted against the UN General Assembly resolution on ending the blockade, citing "deepening relations between Cuba and Russia."
