Pakistan intends to send military to Gaza as part of a peacekeeping force
Pakistan is considering sending troops to the Gaza Strip as part of US President Donald Trump's proposed peace plan. This was announced on October 29 by the country's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif.
"This issue needs to be resolved, and it is already in the process. The government will make a decision after the completion of the process, and I don't want to get ahead of it," he said in an interview with Geo News.
According to the minister, if Pakistan has to participate in this, then such a decision will be a "matter of honor" for the country, Bloomberg added.
Asif also noted that the government will consult with Parliament and other relevant institutions before proceeding with the implementation of this measure.
On the same day, Al Jazeera TV channel reported that the number of victims as a result of IDF strikes on the Gaza Strip on the night of October 29 exceeded 90 people. It was clarified that at least 24 children were among them.
Prior to that, on October 28, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered new strikes on the Gaza Strip. According to the Israeli leader's office, the Prime Minister made this decision after security consultations.
The Axios portal also reported that the United States intends to strengthen control over the observance of the ceasefire in the area, which came after the end of the conflict announced on October 13 by United States President Donald Trump and the signing of the first stage of the peace plan between the Israeli side and the Palestinian Hamas movement. The plan involves the withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to the agreed line and the speedy release of all hostages.
