The State Duma proposed to increase the maximum payment for the European protocol

A bill will be submitted to the State Duma to increase the maximum payment for CTP in case of registration of an accident under the European protocol from 200 to 300 thousand rubles. The initiative belongs to the New People faction, RIA Novosti reported on October 17.

The authors of the bill pointed out that the amount of payments under the European protocol has ceased to correspond to the cost of repairing cars after an accident amid rising prices, which may lead to a reduction in the use of this simplified mechanism.

Back in the summer of this year, the State Duma adopted a law on increasing the maximum amount of compensation for paperwork on an accident without calling police officers in case of disagreement between the participants in the accident from 100,000 to 200,000 rubles. Compensation within this limit can be counted on if there is a photo recording of the damage.

According to the Bank of Russia, in 2024, more than 40% of all accidents reported in the CTP system were registered under the European protocol. The amount of insurance compensation in more than 80% of such cases was less than 100 thousand rubles.

They will enter into a policy: CTP in some regions may double in price

Nationwide, for emergency drivers, the cost of a citizen's car will increase by 15% in the coming months.

The day before, it was reported that the Ministry of Finance simplified the receipt of compensation for CTP. It is now possible to receive CTP compensation online, using Gosuslugi or Gosuslugi Avto, if an accident was registered by an employee of the State Traffic Inspectorate. Previously, this opportunity was only available to those who fixed damage without calling an inspector, and since 2023 it has been used almost 90 thousand times.

Earlier, on October 9, it became known that the average CTP payment in August 2025 set a new record and amounted to almost 121.4 thousand rubles. This amount was 6.7% more than at the end of last summer. The average premium in August decreased by 5.2% year-on-year, to 7,237 rubles.
