On October 7, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala announced his resignation as leader of the Civic Democratic Party (GDPDB) after his party's defeat in the parliamentary elections.

"Politics implies responsibility. The Spolu coalition did not win the election. As its leader, I was responsible for the outcome. That is why I have decided not to run for the post of chairman of the GDPAND today I informed the members of the executive board about this," he wrote in X (former. Twitter).

In addition, Fiala expressed gratitude to all the people who supported him.

The ANO movement ("Action of Dissatisfied Citizens"), led by former Czech Prime Minister Andrei Babis, won the parliamentary elections in the country on October 4 by 99.55% of polling stations. Fiala, in turn, congratulated the representatives of the ANO.
