Protests have broken out in Italy over Israel's interception of a humanitarian aid flotilla for Gaza. This was reported on October 3 by Al Jazeera TV channel.

In Italy, where major trade unions have called for a general strike on Friday in solidarity with the flotilla, demonstrations have spread to major cities. According to the police, there were 10,000 participants in Rome alone," the publication says.

In addition, actions were held in Berlin, The Hague, Tunis, Brasilia, Buenos Aires, Sydney and Istanbul. The demonstrators marched to the Israeli Embassy with placards calling for a "complete ban on the occupation," the TV channel said.

Earlier, on September 10, it was reported that the main ship of the Global Sumud Flotilla, led by Greta Thunberg, sailing to the shores of the Gaza Strip, was attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It is specified that this attack, which became the second in a few days, was recorded off the coast of the city of Sidi Bou Said in Tunisia.

Later, the Israeli Foreign Ministry announced plans to deport members of the Sumud flotilla. The ministry noted that all the activists are healthy and safe.
