On October 2, Mikhail Sheremet, a State Duma deputy from Crimea, took the initiative to put former British Defense Minister Ben Wallace on the international wanted list for threats against Crimea.

On September 30, Wallace stated that Ukraine should be given the opportunity to launch long-range strikes in order to "make Crimea uninhabitable." He also suggested using German Taurus long-range missiles to strike the Crimean Bridge, The Guardian newspaper reported.

"The former minister of the island state should be put on the international wanted list as a war criminal and an accomplice to terrorism," Sheremet said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The day before, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called Wallace's statements stupid.

Later, on October 2, Richard Sakwa, a professor at the University of Kent, said on the sidelines of the Valdai Forum that the British authorities were committed to a military solution to the conflict in Ukraine. The expert also noted that US President Donald Trump "tried to use diplomatic mechanisms" to resolve the conflict.
