CAS ordered FC CSKA to pay € 630 thousand to the ex-coach of the team Fedotov
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has ordered the Moscow football club (FC) CSKA to pay compensation in the amount of € 630 thousand to the former head coach of the team, Vladimir Fedotov. The relevant information was published on the official website of the court on September 30.
It is noted that in his appeal, Fedotov demanded compensation in the amount of an annual salary of € 2.1 million and interest for early termination of the contract "without a valid reason." The CAS board partially satisfied the coach's demands and ordered CSKA to pay 30% of the salary, which amounted to €630 thousand.
In August 2024, the dispute resolution Chamber of the Russian Football Union (RFU) refused to pay compensation to Fedotov from CSKA. The 59-year-old specialist wanted to sue the army 200 million rubles because of his dismissal. In September 2024, the coach filed a lawsuit against CSKA in CAS, adds Sport-Express.
Fedotov led CSKA from June 2022 to June 2024.
Earlier, on September 2, the CAS rejected Dynamo Moscow's lawsuit against Norwegian midfielder Mathias Norman. The Football Tribunal of the International Football Federation (FIFA) in November 2023 found former Rostov midfielder Norman guilty of terminating his contract with the Russian team. Then the court ordered the athlete to pay compensation to the club. It was clarified that Al-Raed, for which the Norwegian spoke, was jointly and severally responsible.
