The proposed mechanisms for calculating recycling are timely, they will whitewash the Russian automotive market and make it more secure and predictable. This was stated by Alexey Kalitsev, CEO of AGR Holding, the company's press service reported on September 30.
"We have made commitments and are making serious investments in plant development and localization. Alternative import channels are always a risk for the buyer. For our part, we are ready to meet domestic demand by offering customers modern cars manufactured taking into account the Russian climatic and road characteristics of operation, with a guarantee, service and transparent conditions," said Kalitsev.
He noted that parallel imports were an important measure during the transition period, but by now these needs can be completely covered by local production.
AGR Holding, in particular, produces Solaris cars (renamed Hyundai and Kia) in St. Petersburg and Tenet models (based on Chery cars).
The draft government decree developed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade assumes the introduction of a new criterion for calculating the size of the scrap yard from November 1 of this year — engine power. The existing grace periods for individual importers who carry cars for personal use (3.4 thousand rubles for new models and 5.2 thousand rubles for cars older than three years) will remain. However, they will only apply to models no more powerful than 160 hp.
Earlier that day, it was reported that the leader of the Fair Russia — For Truth faction, Sergei Mironov, sent a letter to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Mikhail Mishustin, with a proposal to abandon the increase in the recycling fee for cars, as well as to provide benefits for its payment to large families and members of their own.
