There has been a complete Internet blackout in Afghanistan
On September 29, the international monitoring service NetBlocks announced a complete Internet blackout in Afghanistan on its Telegram channel. According to the organization, this is due to the actions of the authorities of the Taliban movement (banned in the Russian Federation) aimed at "observing morality."
"Afghanistan is now in a state of complete disconnection from the Internet as the authorities take steps to respect morality," NetBlocks said in a statement.
According to the service, telephone service is also disrupted in the country.
Earlier, on September 26, it became known about a technological breakthrough. Engineers from the University of Pennsylvania have for the first time launched a working quantum Internet based on conventional Verizon fiber optic cables. It was noted that scientists have developed a special chip, the Q—chip, which helps synchronize ordinary Internet signals with quantum ones.
