Rospotrebnadzor has sent a request to the Turkish Ministry of Health due to reports of mass poisoning of Russian tourists at a Kemer hotel. The corresponding statement was published on the Federal Service's website on September 27.
"Rospotrebnadzor has prepared an official request to the Turkish Ministry of Health within the framework of the current memorandum of cooperation on combating infections and protecting the health of tourists with a request to provide official data on the results of the investigation and an assessment of the risk of possible deterioration of the epidemiological situation," the report says.
Rospotrebnadzor also requested additional information from Turkish colleagues through international WHO channels and sent an official request to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
The ministry recalled that for prevention purposes, it is necessary to wash hands thoroughly before eating, use only bottled or boiled water for drinking, wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly, and avoid contact with people with signs of respiratory and intestinal infections.
On the eve of September 27, the coordinator of the Pegas Touristik tour operator for the CIS, Orhan Sanjar, said that tour operators had suggested that Turkish authorities strengthen control amid the increased frequency of accidents with tourists in the country.
