At a plenary session on September 24, the State Duma rejected a bill that proposed writing warnings to drivers about the inadmissibility of driving cars after taking such drugs in the instructions for the use of medicines containing narcotic or psychotropic substances. Information about this is posted on the portal of the lower house of Parliament.

It was proposed to amend Article 46 of the Federal Law "On the Circulation of Medicines". The instructions for the medicinal product containing narcotic or psychotropic substances were supposed to reflect the "no traffic" road sign. It also suggested prescribing data on the presence of narcotic or psychotropic substances in the drug and the period of their stay in the body.

According to the authors of the initiative, this should have drawn additional attention to the need to refrain from driving during the period of effect of such drugs on the human body. The draft law was announced in May of this year.

"Currently, judicial practice is not in favor of drivers, and almost everyone who has traces of phenobarbital, codeine or other narcotic and psychotropic substances that have entered the human body as a result of taking medications has been brought to administrative responsibility for driving under the influence of drugs," it says. in the explanatory note.

Earlier that day, it was reported that a bill had been submitted to the State Duma, according to which the owner of a car recorded by cameras without a CTP policy would be fined no more than once a day.
