The winners of the NGO grant competition were named in Moscow

229 projects became winners of the Moscow Mayor's grant competition for socially oriented non-profit organizations. About a third of organizations will receive such support for the first time, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said in his blog.

The total budget of the competition is 600 million rubles. NGOs with more than a year's work experience will receive up to 5 million rubles. The grant to organizations that started operations more than six months ago will amount to 500 thousand rubles.

Applicants could apply for one of 12 nominations: charity, family policy, youth initiatives, ecology, city safety and others. In total, more than 700 projects were registered. The most popular nomination with 55 winners was "Youth of Moscow".

Among the winners in the Charity nomination is the ORBIE Stroke Foundation. With the grant funds, the foundation will continue to operate a hotline and organize a charity sale of items from Russian designers in support of people who have suffered a stroke.

The Second Wind Foundation received support in the "Ecology of the Metropolis" nomination. According to the mayor, the organization will continue to develop a workshop where visitors can repair old things and try their hand at design.

In total, more than 30 thousand are registered in the capital. NGOs, one third have a social orientation. The organizations help, in particular, people with disabilities, families in difficult situations, orphaned children, and members of the SVO, Sobyanin said earlier.

Since 2002, over 3.6 thousand projects have received grants, involving 10.5 million people. In 2024, a record number of organizations became winners — 262. Among them are the projects "Volunteers: Victory Mission", "Start your own business with Moscow" and "Choose friends!", which helps animals from shelters.
