11 people were recognized as victims in the criminal case of the murder of Igor Kirillov, head of the radiation, chemical and biological Protection Forces (RCBZ), and his assistant Ilya Polikarpov. On September 20, it became known from a message from law enforcement agencies.

"As part of the investigation of the criminal case, 11 citizens were recognized as victims, seven witnesses were questioned, and all previously scheduled examinations were completed," TASS informs.

In total, five defendants in the case have been identified, among them Akhmadjon Kurbonov, Batukhan Tochiev, Ramazan Padiyev and Robert Safaryan. The last person involved is a citizen of Ukraine, Andrei Gedzik. It is specified that he disappeared and is currently on the federal wanted list.

All five defendants are included in the list of terrorists and extremists of the Russian Federation.

Kirillov and his assistant died on the morning of December 17, 2024, as a result of the detonation of an explosive device planted in a scooter at the entrance of an apartment building in Moscow.

On January 16, the Moscow court detained three defendants in the criminal case — Tochiev, Kurbonov and Padiev.

On August 17, the investigative authorities completed the preliminary investigation into the murder case. On September 8, the Investigative Committee of Russia recognized 11 people as victims of the terrorist attack. It was clarified that the number of defendants in the criminal case had increased to five people.

On September 19, the charges against the defendants in the case were increased. They can receive up to 15 years in prison, and the organizer of the crime faces a life sentence.
