Trump has filed a lawsuit against The New York Times for defamation of $15 billion.
US President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against The New York Times, which he accused of defamation and insults for $15 billion. He wrote about this on September 15 in his Truth Social network.
"Today I <...> filed a $15 billion libel and insult lawsuit against The New York Times. <...> Their support for Kamala Harris was literally brought to the front page of The New York Times. <...> [The newspaper] has been lying for decades about your beloved president (about me), my family, business, the America First movement, MAGA, and our country as a whole," the message reads.
It is noted that the publication has become one of those media outlets that have been involved in lawsuits involving Trump for documentary and visual editing.
The lawsuit was filed in the Florida State Court.
Earlier, on April 14, Trump accused the American television channel CBS News of manipulating information and said he would file a lawsuit against the 60 Minutes program so that the media could be deprived of broadcasting rights in the future.
On July 17, Trump announced his intention to sue the WSJ newspaper. He stated that it is a "disgusting and dirty newspaper" that tries to maintain its relevance by publishing false information.
