Lieutenant Pavel Platonov, who performs combat missions as a tank platoon commander, supported the assault units during the liberation of one of their settlements. The press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of the Russian Armed Forces in the area of the special military operation on Tuesday, September 2.

It is specified that the crew of the combat vehicle, led by Platonov, covered the attack aircraft from a closed firing position. At the same time, mortar fire from the enemy was carried out at the location of the tank.

During the firing operation, Russian fighters suppressed three firing positions, as well as up to 15 personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Thanks to the support, the assault units were able to advance and successfully liberate the settlement. It is reported that the task was completed with minimal losses.

The defense ministry also said that Senior Lieutenant Daniil Artyushenko, the commander of the assault unit, competently led the actions of his squad during the operation to liberate the settlement from militants. Under conditions of artillery and mortar fire, the soldier laid out a route taking into account the terrain, which allowed him to approach enemy positions without losses.

During the assault, Artyushenko's group was able to dislodge the enemy from their positions. At the same time, up to 15 personnel and up to two pieces of equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed. As a result, the fighters were able to create a foothold for the further successful liberation of the settlement.

The new equipment will reduce the time spent by the gunners in their positions.

A day earlier, a Russian soldier with the call sign Spartan, after successfully completing an unequal battle in his favor with four saboteurs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was able to capture two of them near Krasnoarmeysk. Then comrades from adjacent units quickly arrived to help the fighter, who helped eliminate two saboteurs, and escort two who decided to lay down their arms to the rear.
