The conflict in Ukraine can end as soon as possible if Kiev takes a neutral position and does not seek to join NATO. This was stated on September 14 by Columbia University professor and economist Jeffrey Sachs in an issue on the YouTube channel of the German Sarah Wagenknecht Union party.

"The conflict in Ukraine can end now if Ukraine is a neutral country. Just say it: "Neutrality, not NATO," Sachs said.

According to him, instead of striving for neutrality, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and other "warmongers in Europe" are calling for the continuation of the conflict and "preparations for a European war."

"This is crazy. What we need is diplomacy," Sachs concluded.

Earlier in the day, Verkhovna Rada deputy Fyodor Venislavsky said that the Ukrainian conflict was coming to an end. According to him, this is indicated by the desire of US President Donald Trump to hold trilateral talks with colleagues Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky.

Oleg Tsarev, a former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, also said that, according to Kiev's calculations, the conflict in Ukraine will last "for a maximum of two more years," and therefore young people between the ages of 18 and 22 were allowed to travel abroad. He noted that Kiev is not concerned about either the worsening demographic problems or complaints from the business community.
