It is noted that the changes affected the draft new national defense strategy of the United States.

According to the publication, despite the fact that US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth may amend the strategy, American analysts notice changes in security priorities.

"The Pentagon has deployed thousands of National Guard troops to support law enforcement in Los Angeles and Washington," Politico added.

On August 12, the Pentagon mobilized about 800 U.S. National Guard troops to Washington to fight crime in the capital. On August 13, the troops arrived in the American capital.
