The United States has not yet missed the chance to join sanity and become one of the constructive forces entering a new era of national development. Dmitry Drobnitsky, an American political scientist, told Izvestia about this.
Earlier in the day, during the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum 2025 (WEF 2025), Russian President Vladimir Putin said that there are many in the United States who are ready to resume or start new work with the Russian Federation. He stressed that the Russian Federation has good offers to work with American companies in Alaska.
Commenting on his words, Drobnitsky noted that it is better to be friends than to fight. According to him, cooperation with Russia can be a unique opportunity for the United States to abandon the destructive line that the state followed under previous administrations.
"The administration of [US President Donald] Trump has not yet missed the chance to abandon his aggressive liberal-globalist approach to the world, including Eurasia, Russia, China, and other countries. It can still become one of the constructive forces in the world that are entering a new era of national development, deglobalization, and reindustrialization," he said.
According to the political scientist, the American leader would be happy to accept this "pass" from the Russian side. However, in his opinion, to do this, Trump needs to fight back against internal ill-wishers.
Earlier, on August 22, Putin pointed to the "light at the end of the tunnel" in relations between Russia and the United States after Trump's return to the presidency. The Head of State expressed hope that the first steps are only the beginning of a full-scale restoration of Russian-American relations.
