In Colombia, during an operation by the national police and the US Navy, drug dealer Robinson Zuluaga Arroyo was detained, who fed the bodies of his victims to a crocodile as a deterrent. This was reported on September 3 by the newspaper El Heraldo de Mexico (EHDM).

"This man, accused of serious crimes such as murder, drug trafficking and illegal exploitation of natural resources, allegedly used cruel methods to eliminate his victims, including using a crocodile," the publication says.

It is reported that a crocodile was seized from the suspect, who, according to the investigation, fed on the remains of victims who had previously been killed and dismembered.

The arrest was made in the port city of Buenaventura in the Valle del Cauca department as part of an operation against members of the Shottas and Espartanos gangs. According to law enforcement officials, since the beginning of 2025, more than 140 members of groups have been detained in the village.

Earlier, on April 4, five mayors of the Venezuelan state of Zulia bordering Colombia, associated with mafia and drug trafficking, were arrested in Venezuela. Diosdado Cabello, Vice President for Policy, Citizen Security and Peace, confirmed this information and added that the charges are related to drug trafficking and drug traffickers operating in the state.
