For the first time in almost a hundred years, the work is returning to the museum space as part of a project at the Pushkin Museum. The painting has belonged to Napoleon's wife Josephine since 1811. After her death, the painting was inherited by her daughter Hortense. Guercino's work appeared in Russia thanks to Alexander I. Since the mid-1980s, it has been in the collection of the artist Ilya Glazunov. The funds of the State Museum of Fine Arts were received from his daughter Vera.
