Summer has brought the students a long-awaited rest and fresh energy, but in a couple of days September will bring them back to school desks, homework and a strict schedule. On August 30, Victoria Podsukhina, a teacher and head of regional teaching at the educational company MAXIMUM Education, told Izvestia about how to get ready to study after the summer holidays.

In order for the transition to the training schedule not to become a sudden surprise for the body, it is necessary to start planning your daily routine at the end of August. You can start small, for example, write down the things for the day in a stylish notebook to motivate yourself, the teacher advises. Planning will prevent overwork in the early months, help maintain a balance between study and rest, and can even be a source of motivation at the beginning of the school year.

"At the same time, it is necessary to think about your plans for the next academic year. A lot will depend on the age of the child and the goals that he sets for himself in the next school year," said Podsukhina.

Students in grades 5-6 do not need to take exams, so all their studies will be aimed at learning about the world around them, developing meta-subject connections in a playful format. There may be more freedom in their curriculum, time for hobbies and groups they are interested in.

In grades 7-9, all the most important theory is studied, which students will then come to the exam with. Therefore, at this time it is important to keep up with the program, not to skip important topics. It is necessary to include regular diagnostics through tests or specialists in your study plan to identify knowledge gaps. If it suddenly turns out that a teenager is starting to lag behind his peers, it is worth including additional classes in his schedule.

"In grades 10-11, the main task is to prepare for exams. The high school student's schedule is getting tighter, but it needs to find a place not only for school, but also for additional classes in each subject. For example, you can devote one day to preparing for the Unified State Exam in Russian, one day to mathematics, another day to two other subjects, and leave one day for repeating and solving standard tasks," the expert advised.

However, when making any schedule, you need to remember that finding time for hobbies, meetings with friends and family is necessary for every child, regardless of age group, otherwise a teenager may be overtaken by burnout.

Finally, before returning to school, you should refresh your knowledge. In August, you can devote time to repeating last year's material.: Reread notes, textbooks, and notebooks. You can start with the basic subjects: mathematics, Russian and foreign languages. In mathematics, you need to remember the basic operations — addition, subtraction, multiplication and division for the younger grades, or formulas and equations for the older ones. There is no need to delve into new topics, it is better to refresh your memory of what was done last year. For the Russian language, these are the basic rules of spelling and punctuation: you can write several dictations or make out simple texts yourself.

You should not try to embrace everything at once — it is better to set aside one or two hours a day for preparation, alternating with rest, so that adaptation to the new year will take place without unnecessary stress, summed up Podsukhina.

Before that, nutritionist Margarita Koroleva gave advice to parents on how to prepare the perfect breakfast for schoolchildren. According to her, it is better to give preference during the first meal to complex carbohydrates with a small amount of simple carbohydrates, fats and protein.
